1967 Chevrolet Corvette Convertible

Many (if not most) aficionados consider the ’67 model year the pinnacle Corvette performance development! This was a milestone year, as it was the first year for the Tri-Power carb set up (three duces) for the 427 big blocks. And the last year for the C2’s (or second generation) body style. But ironically, what turned out to be the best year for Corvette, almost didn’t happen at all!

Anticipation was high for the introduction of the third generation, which was originally scheduled to come out as a ’67. However, the new Shark wasn’t quite ready for primetime. So, it was decided that the mid-years would be extended to run through ’67. As a result, the subtle refinements, such as revised side vents, and back up lights, a proper hand brake, and the stunning aluminum bolt on wheel option, came to available only in ’67.

But what really made this a standout year was the stunning Stinger hood! The hood came standard with any of the 427 big block options: L36 390hp, L68 400hp (Tri-Power), or L71 (Tri-Power). Not to mention the L89 and L88! There were engines available for every taste and performance level!

The beautiful ’67 featured here, is a rare and unusual piece. Not only is it optioned with the L68 big block, but it’s also equipped with very rare factory air-conditioning!

The car has been completely frame-off restored. At that time, the original color of Ermine White was changed to Tuxedo Black at the owner’s request.

Add to the equipment list, power brakes, power steering, power windows, am/fm radio, telescoping steering column, headrest seats, shoulder harnesses, side exhaust system, and bolt on (reproduction) wheels wrapped in red line radial tires, and you’re riding in the ultimate combination, of luxury, style, and performance!
